In Frankfurt Society

In the photo project "In Frankfurt Society" by Anna Pekala and Florian Albrecht-Schoeck, insights are provided into the living environments of Frankfurt residents.

A selection of the photographs can be seen in the permanent exhibition Frankfurt Now! Anna Pekala's portraits are installed in the window niches and shine into the room. She portrays families, couples or individuals in their homes, the focus of Florian Albrecht-Schoeck lies on urbanity. Anna Pekala stages the portraits together with the residents: Furniture is moved, objects are brought into the picture or taken out, selected clothes are put on and a meaningful pose is taken.

The project "In Frankfurt Society" has been realized since 2013 in 18 Frankfurt neighborhoods and includes about 700 portraits and outdoor shots. Over the years, a comprehensive document of time has emerged that shows versatility, individuality, but also commonalities of the most diverse lifestyles, world views and cultures.

The project is funded and supported by the "Frankfurt Program -- Active Neighborhood". Since 2000, the Frankfurt Program has been active in currently 15 neighborhoods of the city.
